Extremely useful when up against football zombies (those guys are tooooough). Hypno-shroom: basically takes over a zombie that touches it and makes it fight for you. At the cost of 75suns, this guy takes out a gravestone, gives you a coin, leaves you a planting space, and pays off at the final wave so zombies will not spawn there. Grave Buster: required to destroy gravestones at night. Very cost effective even when not going against screen door zombies. This shrooms attacks go through the door and attack the zombie directly. The main purpose of this shroom is to deal with screen door zombies. It starts off small giving small suns (15 suns) but ends up growing to a larger shroom and producing big suns (25 suns).įume-shroom: this big guy does normal damage with an aoe in front of it. Sun-shroom: the night version of the sunflower. Useful in any situation, i put it everywhere when i have nothing else to do. ![]() Puff-shroom: no cost, relatively good damage. A good plant, it saves space while acting as two. Repeater: exactly like the peashooter except it shoots two peas at a time, at double the cost. For its cost of 150, it is not worth making one unless it kills at least 3 zombies, otherwise just get 3 squashes. During the early levels this was a great plant, but later on the high cost makes it highly ineffective compared to others.Ĭhomper: an instant kill, the only problem is while it omnoms on the zombie it does nothing else, only soaking up damage. They deal the same damage as the peashooter but slow an insane amount of movement speed on impact. Snow Pea: my favourite plant for a little while. There are better alternatives compared to this lil fella. Potato Mine: They cost like nothing but take forever to set up, only killing one zombie that steps on it. Rarely have i ever used them due to the fact that they take a long time to reload. They do not actually do damage but can withstand aLOT of damage from zombies. Wall-nut: the precursor to the Tall-nut, these act as a blockade. The high cost makes it unappealing as well. The only times where i used these were during the minigame style levels. They explode dealing instant aoe death around them. A must have for any daytime situation, without this might as well call it GG.Ĭherry Bomb: i have actually never used these in any of the adventure mode levels, just that i found there was no situation that i needed to. These plants are the only other alternative to gain sunlight during the day (with exception of the sun-shroom). Sunflower: another foundation plant during the day. Very very useful i find in any situation, very cost effective. After planting two sunflowers this plant immediately comes next. Peashooter: the most basic plant available and a standard foundation plant to any defence. For this post i will talk briefly about each plant i have encountered and my personal thoughts about them in regards to the game. I have not yet completed the entire game yet in adventure mode so i have not unlocked and used every single plant yet. ![]() You do, however, gain the ability to wake up mushrooms during the day with a coffee bean, at the cost of a little wake up time. ![]() Plants vary during the time setting of the stage, during the day plants are planted but during the night only mushrooms can be used (since the mushrooms are nocturnal). Each plants’ function bears some resemblance to their actual names, a fun twist with puns. I wanted to go through the entire game once to get a good feel of each character before writing about them, but i feel that i have played a sufficient amount (i’m at level 5-6). The various plants available in your arsenal.Īfter playing the game for about 10-15hrs, i still have not finished the game.
